LORDI To Perform At EUROVISION SONG CONTEST Final

February 9, 2007

ESCToday.com reports that Finnish heavy metal monsters LORDI will perform in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 final, according to Ilta-Sanomat. The band met its fans yesterday at Helsinki's main post office where they signed autographs and picked up the triple platinum record for their "The Arockalypse" album. LORDI mainman Mr. Lordi spoke about Japan, the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 final, their USA plans and more.

Prior to performing in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 final, LORDI will play a couple of gigs in Finland, Estonia and Belgium before going to Japan and the USA. "I'm a bit worried about the food in Japan," said Mr. Lordi. "I don't eat raw fish, or fish in general."

"The Arockalypse" is currently at position No. 13 on the Japanese album chart. "We are going to the USA after that," Mr. Lordi said. "We won't try the ice with a stick there, like we say here in Finland, but hit it with a baseball bat!"

"The Arockalypse" will be released in North America in March via The End Records.

In other news, LORDI will perform at the Emma Gaala (the Finnish Grammys equivalent) on March 10. LORDI is nominated for Band Of The Year, Album Of The Year ("The Arockalypse"),Song Of The Year ("Hard Rock Hallelujah") and Producer Of The Year (Jyrki Tuovinen). They are up for the Best Finnish Act award, as chosen by televoters.
